Background

 

Sifu Jon Fialkov trains with Sifu (Master) Gary Lam (Lam Man Hog) in the Wong Shun Leung lineage of Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) Kung Fu.  Sifu Jon Fialkov is authorized by Sifu Gary Lam to teach the entire Gary Lam Wing Chun 5 Elements curriculum and certify his own students.

Sigung (Grandmaster) Wong Shun Leung was a renowned fighter, calligrapher, bonesetter, and teacher (of Bruce Lee and Master Gary Lam among others). He was undisputed champion of the Hong Kong challenge match (Beimo) and carried the nickname "Gong Sau Wong" or "King of Talking Hands." Master Gary Lam is renowned in his own right as a fighter in full contact tournaments in Hong Kong and the head instructor at Wong Shun Leung's school in Hong Kong and then at his own schools in Hong Kong and then Los Angeles. Master Gary Lam was the Undefeated Champion of the 1978-1979 Hong Kong Full Contact Tournament and has been awarded innumerable honors including 2006 "Sifu of the Year" and induction into the "Ving Tsun Hall of Fame" in 2011. Master Gary Lam was elected Lifetime Honorary Advisor to the Hong Kong Ving Tsun Athletic Association (HKVTAA) in 2012 for his contributions to the organization and the development of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
